Quick Wine Guide: Easy Way to Order Wine Online

Posted by Megan Savage on

Ordering wine online without knowing exactly what you want can be tough. With so many options for great tasting wine, where do you start? We’ve done the heavy lifting for you to suggest a wine for you based on what you typically like, saving you time sifting through all of our wines. Here are our top recommendations based on flavour and sweetness.

If You Like an Easy Sipper: Apothic Red

Let’s kick it off with a sweet, smooth red. If you like a sweeter, fruitier wine, Apothic Red is for you. While sweet, but not too sweet, this popular wine is an easy, every-day wine, with notes of black cherry. It is a great red wine – especially if you’re new to wines. It’s also super versatile, pairing well with a rare steak, or with dessert.

Alcohol Content: 13.5%

Sugar Content: 16 G/L (Semi-Sweet)

Style: Full Bodied & Smooth

A Dry, Full Bodied Red: Trapiche PURE Malbec

You really can’t go wrong with Trapiche wines, and this Argentinian Malbec is no exception. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a medium-bodied, semi-dry red with a great flavour. Despite being dry, it’s loaded with notes of fruity jam, plum and vanilla. This Malbec is great with a charcuterie board; especially with Gruyere or Gouda cheese.

Alcohol Content: 13.5%

Sugar Content: 4 G/L (Dry)

Style: Full Bodied and Smooth

The Perfect Sweet Summer Rosé: Jacob’s Creek Moscato Rosé

Sweet wine lovers, this one’s for you. With a flavour palette of melon and pear, this Australian Moscato is the perfect fun summer wine that tastes like a sunny day. And with its lower alcohol percentage, this wine is great for day sipping at a BBQ, and pairing with a light cheese board with some brie, or with fruit.

Alcohol Content: 7.5%

Sugar Content: 77 G/L (Sweet)

Style: Soft & Light

The Fruity & Refreshing White: Wayne Gretzky Pinot Grigio VQA

Wayne Gretzky may be just as good at wine as he is hockey. This Pinot Grigio is a citrusy, floral wine that is super light and refreshing. As it is on the dryer side, it’s a bit tart – but in a good way. If you like a white wine that isn’t too sweet, this is a wine you’ll definitely want to try. We’d recommend having a glass of this with seafood such as fresh oysters or grilled shrimp.

Alcohol Content: 12.5%

Sugar Content: 9 G/L (Sweet)

Style: Light & Crisp
